About Ger Salakot Restaurant

Located inside the Philippine Canadian Centre of Manitoba, Ger Salakot Restaurant brings the authentic taste of home to Winnipeg’s Filipino community. Our name comes from the traditional Filipino hat, the salakot, representing our deep connection to Filipino culture and heritage.

Our owner and chef, Gerome Labial, honed his culinary skills in the Philippines before bringing his passion for Filipino cuisine to Canada. Together with his wife, he turned their dream into reality by opening Ger Salakot.

We serve classic Filipino dishes made fresh daily, using the turo-turo style where you can point to what looks good. From our popular kare-kare to hearty sinigang, every dish is made with care and quality ingredients.

Our mission is simple: serve delicious Filipino food, family-style, at prices everyone can afford. No fuss, just good food that makes you feel at home.
